History

ABC Transport Plc commenced operations in road passenger transport in February 13, 1993 as an off-shoot of Rapido Ventures Limited in Owerri with an authorized share capital of N1, 000,000.  The authorized and paid up share capitals have since been increased to N800million. Fashioned with a view to running a modern road transportation system in Nigeria with international standards, the company is ably managed by a team of time-tested professionals with excellent track records in their chosen fields. Supporting the management team is a Board of Directors composed of men of integrity whose diverse backgrounds serve as a rich resources base for the company's policy formulation and overall business perspective. Its services are specifically designed for discerning travelers.

The operations in Nigeria is carried out in modern terminals, with comfortable lounges in various cities like Lagos (Jibowu, Oshodi, Amuwo-Odofin) Aba, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Enugu,  Onitsha, Umuahia, Mbaise, Jos, Kaduna, etc.

ABC buses are dubbed with the company's trademark - the Reindeer. 

OWNERSHIP



ABC Transport is a diversified Company in terms of ownership and investments. The company went through a successful initial public offer in September 2006, thereby converting the company to a public limited liability company, with over 18,000 shareholders and listing.

CITY TRANSIT INN (100% OWNED)

City Transit Inn is a budget 42-room hotel next to the ABC Transport's modern terminal at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and offers affordable accommodation and features air-conditioned rooms with hot and cold showers, TV with multiple satellite channels, home video and local stations.

ABC EXPRESS COURIER LTD (ABEX) (35% SHAREHOLDING)

ABC Express Courier, otherwise known as ABEX Express Parcel Services, was incorporated in Nigeria in 1997 and licensed by the Nigerian Postal Service,  NIPOST. ABEX specializes in the rapid documents/ parcels delivery nationwide and internationally, with a network spanning across Nigeria.

ABEX comprises dynamic, experienced and professionally qualified personnel and employs over 250 staff. 

ABC Transport  Plc has 35% shareholding in ABEX Express Courier Ltd.
